It's popularity as lucky emblems dates back centuries, when horseshoes were supposedly used to fend off evil spirits. This antique locket pendant (circa 1870 1890) is adorned with a ruby and pearl studded horseshoe and a belt accented with rose cut diamonds. The locket is 14k gold (unmarked, but acid tested) and opens and closes securely. It has its original frames and coverings,
