It opens with an intriguing mix of wet tobacco and blackberry pie aromas. The body is light to medium with a good balance of fruit and acidity. There is a surprising density of blackberry and cassis flavors integrated with stone and smoke flavors. The tannins are mild and the finish is generous, with a touch of black olive at the back end.
