Our fully assembled unpainted screen bottoms comes with a 8 gauge mesh galvanized screen and  a 1/8"  flat plastic tray that slides in the groove from the back of the screen bottom

A small fire is started in the smoker using pine straw, leaves, pine cones or burlap. A bellows gets and keeps the fire going but you just want to create smoke a cool white smoke. Use the smoke sparingly as a little goes a long way. You can give a puff or two at the entrance and the same in the top. The smoke disorients the bees and keeps them calm while you are working in the hive.
