I headed back down the road and went up Trail Ridge Road where at tree line I emerged from the clouds

On this trip I had a film camera with me allowing the grain to show in the image which was taken on the trip

As the shadow went off into the distance I used an aperture to let the shadow slowly go out of focus as it went into the distance and off of the frame

however the low clouds added to the scene

Instead of zooming in on the island I decided to include a little of the shoreline in this image to help provide perspective of the area and the size of the island

Ridges in the Mountains Size:24"x36" I headed back down theHeading south on the Alaska Railroad from Fairbanks to Anchorage is quite an experience. In early March one year I took this trip and was fortunate to have nice conditions, and yes cold, as the train made the twelve hour journey. As we passed through the Alaska Range the low clouds provided scenic views along with temperatures near zero as I watched from an open window in the train.
