Known for pushing the boundaries of jazz, Brubeck explored complex time signatures in Time Out, and in Time Further Out, he continued this exploration with even more experimental time signatures, ranging from 3 4 to 7 4 and beyond. The album title and concept pay homage to the abstract surrealist painter Joan Mir. Each track on Time Further Out corresponds to a different time
