These ridges are accentuated by similarly spaced brushwork in dark brown glaze which compliments a contrasting lighter olive base glaze

Set of ten alabaster bowls, Tanzania. 1980s. glass 5cm / Depth: 37cm /A set of beautifully light and calming alabaster bowls; nine small and one large serving pieces. Alabaster has been the choice material for carving, due to its soft mineral composition. Each bowl is hand carved and features a scored foot to reduce unnecessary movement. The root of alabaster, Alabastros, or perfume vase is made clear through an almost translucent body that carries notes of other elements. Some of the smaller bowls feature watercolour
