Domaine Marcel Lapierre, Morgon 'Cuvée Camille' 2024 Grenache Godly juice from the SouthernPlace: Beaujolais, France Grape: Gamay Vibe: Natural but a classic Coming off an old vine plot in the Cte du Py with southwest exposure and a very shallow layer of granitic topsoil. Geeky bits aside, this is probably my favourite 2023 from the whole of the Beaujolais. Reflecting the vintage there is fresher fruit than recent warm years whilst still deep and brooding. A driving minerality, fine tannin, and dense salinity hint at a beautiful life ahead.
